My favorite story is The Match Girl, by Hans Christian andersen. Others say That It's a Wonderful Life, Frosty the Snowman, or Rudolph is their favorite Christmas story. Those are great, but this is my favorite.(other that the nativity)
It just caught my eye when I read it and it had a lot of meaning to me. Here it is:
Most terribly cold it was; it snowed, and was nearly quite dark, and evening-- the last evening of the year. In this cold and darkness there went along the street a poor little girl, bareheaded, and with naked feet. When she left home she had slippers on, it is true; but what was the good of that? They were very large slippers, which her mother had hitherto worn; so large were they; and the poor little thing lost them as she scuffled away across the street, because of two carriages that rolled by dreadfully fast.
One slipper was nowhere to be found; the other had been laid hold of by an urchin, and off he ran with it; he thought it would do capitally for a cradle when he some day or other should have children himself. So the little maiden walked on with her tiny naked feet, that were quite red and blue from cold. She carried a quantity of matches in an old apron, and she held a bundle of them in her hand. Nobody had bought anything of her the whole livelong day; no one had given her a single farthing.
She crept along trembling with cold and hunger--a very picture of sorrow, the poor little thing!
The flakes of snow covered her long fair hair, which fell in beautiful curls around her neck; but of that, of course, she never once now thought. From all the windows the candles were gleaming, and it smelt so deliciously of roast goose, for you know it was New Year's Eve; yes, of that she thought.
In a corner formed by two houses, of which one advanced more than the other, she seated herself down and cowered together. Her little feet she had drawn close up to her, but she grew colder and colder, and to go home she did not venture, for she had not sold any matches and could not bring a farthing of money: from her father she would certainly get blows, and at home it was cold too, for above her she had only the roof, through which the wind whistled, even though the largest cracks were stopped up with straw and rags.
Her little hands were almost numbed with cold. Oh! a match might afford her a world of comfort, if she only dared take a single one out of the bundle, draw it against the wall, and warm her fingers by it. She drew one out. "Rischt!" how it blazed, how it burnt! It was a warm, bright flame, like a candle, as she held her hands over it: it was a wonderful light. It seemed really to the little maiden as though she were sitting before a large iron stove, with burnished brass feet and a brass ornament at top. The fire burned with such blessed influence; it warmed so delightfully. The little girl had already stretched out her feet to warm them too; but--the small flame went out, the stove vanished: she had only the remains of the burnt-out match in her hand.
She rubbed another against the wall: it burned brightly, and where the light fell on the wall, there the wall became transparent like a veil, so that she could see into the room. On the table was spread a snow-white tablecloth; upon it was a splendid porcelain service, and the roast goose was steaming famously with its stuffing of apple and dried plums. And what was still more capital to behold was, the goose hopped down from the dish, reeled about on the floor with knife and fork in its breast, till it came up to the poor little girl; when--the match went out and nothing but the thick, cold, damp wall was left behind. She lighted another match. Now there she was sitting under the most magnificent Christmas tree: it was still larger, and more decorated than the one which she had seen through the glass door in the rich merchant's house.
Thousands of lights were burning on the green branches, and gaily-colored pictures, such as she had seen in the shop-windows, looked down upon her. The little maiden stretched out her hands towards them when--the match went out. The lights of the Christmas tree rose higher and higher, she saw them now as stars in heaven; one fell down and formed a long trail of fire.
"Someone is just dead!" said the little girl; for her old grandmother, the only person who had loved her, and who was now no more, had told her, that when a star falls, a soul ascends to God.
She drew another match against the wall: it was again light, and in the lustre there stood the old grandmother, so bright and radiant, so mild, and with such an expression of love.
"Grandmother!" cried the little one. "Oh, take me with you! You go away when the match burns out; you vanish like the warm stove, like the delicious roast goose, and like the magnificent Christmas tree!" And she rubbed the whole bundle of matches quickly against the wall, for she wanted to be quite sure of keeping her grandmother near her. And the matches gave such a brilliant light that it was brighter than at noon-day: never formerly had the grandmother been so beautiful and so tall. She took the little maiden, on her arm, and both flew in brightness and in joy so high, so very high, and then above was neither cold, nor hunger, nor anxiety--they were with God.
But in the corner, at the cold hour of dawn, sat the poor girl, with rosy cheeks and with a smiling mouth, leaning against the wall--frozen to death on the last evening of the old year. Stiff and stark sat the child there with her matches, of which one bundle had been burnt. "She wanted to warm herself," people said. No one had the slightest suspicion of what beautiful things she had seen; no one even dreamed of the splendor in which, with her grandmother she had entered on the joys of a new year.

My letter to Janks
So I have this class called Sword of Freedom ( or Only Sorta Freedom, Get it?) And I had to write a letter and pretend I was an solider in the civil war that had just fought in the battle of Gettysburg. And while I was writing this letter It made me think.
I hope reading this will also make you think also.
Corporal Gidion Stuart July 5, 1863
20th Main Infantry
Dear Janks,
You know how I say “You should be glad you can’t join the war?” Well, be glad you can’t. As you probably have heard of late... this battle was one of the most terrible battles of the war. I am sorry to have you receive this tear stained letter. Words can’t compensate for the dead, and the memories inside my head. First .... the fear. So much fear you've already died, just from fear. They say brave man only die once, and fools die a thousand times over. I don’t care if you are Hercules, but any man that did that bayonet charge died a thousand times. So many miracles happened that day, and some of the worst things that would happen in history also happened. Angels walked down that hill with us while the devil was grabbing at our heels. We thought the worst was over. Then thousands of men marched a mile in front of a thousand guns pre-aimed at them. The bodies. So many bodies. Gray and red faces forming an adequate funeral carpet for the others behind. I am lucky, Janks, because I don’t have a family that will miss me when I am gone and I will be in a better place than this blood-stained earth. To think that each one of those men, both Confederate and Union have their lovers awaiting them in Georgia, or a poor nine year old son waiting in New York. All the actors, musicians, the farmers, the dreamers, singers.... Their thoughts, feelings, memories entombed on this battlefield, never to rise again. Their loved ones will never feel their warm hand, or helping smile. I have only you Janks. And I am glad to have you. Because if not, I am afraid I would go insane. The one good thing this war has done, is make me think. I will never see another person on the street and brush them of like dust. I will see them as a lover, hater, or human being. It has made me think which side is the right side. And quite frankly, I am not all the way sure which side is the right side when both sides can let such Horror happen the last three days. I don’t know what to think any more. I guess I will have to follow the one side that has the best heart. Because it seems to me that neither side is completely right. Well, it looks as though I have gone off rambling in the raspberry bushes again and said too much.
Thanks for being there for me,
Gidd

The Sound of Music
As many of my friends know, I LOVE music. Like love all kinds of music. That's why Spotify is so heavenly for me. In two months, I created Forty Two playlists, with a grand total of Five-Hundred and Eight songs. Spotify is like an Pinterest for me. Among these Are so many difference types of songs that I am starting to need some type of organizer. I have classical (Composers, Piano guys, and countless film scores,)
Country(mostly Johnny Cash,) Classic Rock, (Neil diamond) and some Dub Step and Pop, and other kinds of music. I also Listen to lots of Oldies. A friend, hearing that I listen to a lot of oldies asked; "so, you listen to Elvis and the Beatles?" In shock I said "No!" Don't get me wrong, these two guy are okay, but there are better people out there. Herman's Hermits, Billy Joel, Neil Diamond, and the best EVER, Simon and Garfunkel are some. Yep these guy are the best. But what I dig the most are songs that are like acoustic music,(Simon and Garfunkel) film scores, (Rocketeer, Newsies) and intense classical pieces. (like the theme from Halo, and another theme from halo called Havoc)
My choir director said: "that the power of music can influence people like nothing else." And it can. the kind of music you listen on your Ipod or Radio can influence your personality and effect how you feel. And I know that listening to music can change how you think, but playing music yourself can change it even more.
So what i am trying to say is, that, music is a VERY powerful yet unrecognized (most of the time) thing.
so the next time you turn something on think about how this music could change your day.

Montana sky
There are so many songs written about a big Montana sky, but when you actually get out there (as I did in Yellowstone at a guest ranch) you realize that all those songs really are true about the monster of a sky there is. Comapre;
Utah sky=cup of water.
Montana sky=mixing bowl of deep blue punch.
The Montana sky realy somehow seams larger, and deeper than your average sky, it makes you seem how really small you are.
It seems to conquer the land, a bold manefestation that there can be something bigger than the Earth and be so small and unnoticed. And who am I, a little speck in the earth among billions of others, and I can so small and unoticed but I can change the world. A quote I quote a lot (and sorta made up); "one person can become ten, and ten a hundred, hundred a thousand, and a thousand a million. And if that one is silenced, then a million lives remain unchanged." you are larger that the Earth in potential and can chang billions of people's lives, but if you give up that chance, a billion lives stay the same and you are Bigger than the Earth yet remain unoticed.

Brown and yellow leaves
Yesterday was the last day of summer. When I woke up, I could tell a difference in the air. There was a chill to it, a ring that comes hand n' hand with the cool, crisp, air: it tells you "school". The first day of Autumn is here, wether or not the calendar says so. Fall and the beginning of school is starting and that means: being super busy. So the activity on this blog will slow down a bit.
P.S. I only chose the next topic when there is at least five topics to chose from.
Thanks for reading and supporting this blog so much!!!

Music
This is why I love music. It's not because it's pretty or because sounds amazing (even though it is both) it's because it goes beyond were words reach to. It's because every one communicates to the very soul of our being and conveys emotions and feelings to us. Each one tells a story, a tale that our minds can barley comprehend. If you think about it, all music is is a bunch of vibrations. It's the stories and the feelings that music be powerful. A quote from Shakespeare; "When words fail, music speaks"
I love music so much I can't explain to you. I am so blessed to have music in my life.

Racing ideas a thoughts…. Oh, and post N.4
As I look back on posts, comments,ETC… I often look back at some of them and cringe. Most other blogs are like;"I love this soap" and "today we did this craft" and here I am, saying half if my family are rednecks. Yep. Post comments here please. (I probably sound depressed a lot of the time to.) yep. Iuve cheesy rolls. Yep.
Mixed notes, and things that have nothing to do with dis post
SoOOOOOOOOOO…………............…(hee hee)
You guys don't know how this blog is ruining me. There is so many wonder-full
Comments this is killing me. And it gives me guilt when I don't make up/write/type up a post within a week. And every Decon thinks I'm weird because I have a blog. So now you know, my adoring fans, why this blog Is RUINING MY LIFE! :-) (back to main subject) I love music. I just love it. I love to sing, play and listen to almost anything music-al. When I said the most played song on my iPod was newsies, it was the most played song because once for vacation I left it on my ihome playing it. My fav song to sing I "Viva La Vida"(Coldplay),my fav album is Les misà ribles,(probly speld it wong), my fav artist is Simon and garfunkel, my fav song to listen to is soul sister, my song I goes to's sleeps is Suzuki, and my second fav song is "its time".(imangin dragons) Right now you may be thinking; "is there music Dallin doesn't like?" The answer is: YES!! (ding ding ding) rap, non-oldie rock(punk rock, for eggsample)
Techno, and dubsteb(my cuz cuz cuz luves dubstep). So to sum up; DALLIN LUVES MUSIC!!!!
Did you know; that a bass has the same note strings as the cello and violin?
No one currently plays a full sized bass in the world currently?
When I stay up(witch is the only time I can get on social media) I go into crazy mood swings. Depressed about conversation. Thinking: "I love cheese coated rolls." "I love that song on the radio" and then: "I HATE POOPY DIAPERS! WHY DO THEY EVEN EXSIST?!?"

Candy land, the place were dreams con from
My favorite candy bar… The THREE MUSKETEERS!
I have had a run of my favorite candy bars since my first one; the BUTTERFINGERS! Then the REASSESS PEANutBuTtEr CuP!(this is still my second fav) aLmOnD jOy (I wish they made one without the almonds and it was milk chocolate) and then, the candy bar that has had a record five year streak, the ThReE mUsKeTeErS! But just so you know, I HATE dark chocolate. I can stand them in cookies, but NO candy bar that is mostly D C is good in my book. Semi-sweet is basically the same thing to. But I don't hate D C as one of my friends. He hates chocolate, and he will not eat it no matter what. He just plain hates chocolate. I feel sad for him. :(

Sorry.…
Ok… (I LOVE starting this way) I am sorry for the delay. My computer was having problems and couldn't get back very fast. I will probably be typing the majority of my blog from my iPod until my computer Is fixed. Ok…(hee hee!) here we go!
The winner is; number ten! Topic; what are my favorite actors/actress's.
To tell you the truth, I don't really have favorite actors/actress's. I could go on and on and on about movies that I love. (Newsies,Spiderman,Rocketeer,) I think actors/actress's no matter how good will have good and bad movies that they star in.
P.S. I can only recall like five actors/actress's names. Johnny Deep, Emma Watson, ummm…

Changes for peanuts... Or something like that
okay everyone I have been feeling a little bit disappointed on how I have been writing so I am going to make a few changes. My friends have blogs that they share and they all chose a topic and write about that one topic. But I am going to try something a little more risky; I will have people comment on the latest post on a topic. I will have a bowl of numbers and chose one. then that comment (like lets say that I chose number twelve the the twelfth comment I will make a post on).
It can be anything. One person can do as many subjects as they want. Sound fun?
comment away!!! :)

Basses....
Today I am going to tell you about Basses, how and why I play the Bass, and my three Basses that I have played on.
Ok, the Basses originated from southern Europe, from the Guitar and instruments like it. Of course, the Bass has evolved just like every instrument, just like the Violin, Viola, and Cello. (which not related to the Bass and came from northern Europe) The Bass is normally used in harmonies adding to the melody. the bass did not come very popular till the 1800's, what music historians call the romantic time period. It played in small groups that had a Bass, Guitar, and several other instruments. IT's fame dwindled till about the 1930's, when big band and jazz appeared. It was very famous. then it fade when that type of music disappeared. then the electric Bass (like the electric Guitar) came and the two were mixed up in fame.
Cool fact: the Bass has the same note from three interments. The highest on from the Violin, The next from the Viola, and the lower-middle from the Cello.
I started playing the Bass when I was ten years old. I have been taught by a wonderful teacher, Antony.
I started playing the Bass because earlier I had been Playing the Violin but hated it (no offence, Violin players,) and switched to Bass.
Cool fact about me: I have been playing the piano since age six.
My first Bass was an 1/16th size, four feet tall, had a little rubber ball on the endpin, and liked to squeak.
My second Bass was An 1/4 size and four and a half feet tall. this had so many memories with it. It was played my first shakespeare play, It was the same bass that MY teacher had started on and loved to torment you because It was so old It was nearly impossible to tune. My third Bass I got to day. It is a half-size and is about five feet tall.I have yet to discover Its secrets.
Cool fact: my second Bass had been used in a public school ten years before my teacher was even born.
See you till next post!

Forgetful...........
IN shakespeare's play "As you like" Rosalind says; "men have died before, but not for love."
Six years earlier Romeo in Romeo and Juliet kills himself for Juliet.
I just thought that was interesting and a tad bit funny.

give she says; "Dallin, you've been sneaking whisky Dallin!" A moment's pause and then I am roaring with laughter. her face is confused and she asks: "what?" I tell her that those are the fancy root beer and cream soda bottles. After a good laugh together she hasn't accused me of anything since then.
Story #3
We were coming home from Yuba Lake(I know right it is a weird name, right? :) and our old motorhome That is older that my thirty year old dad was breaking down. Popping sounds were coming out of of the engine and it was stalling. We pulled of the freeway onto university parkway in provo and attempted to make our way down though there. Then the engine completely cut off and we were low on fuel. My dad got out to try and fix it. My siblings and our mom gathered around the table. We said a prayer and asked if Heavenly Father could send us some help. Fifteen minutes passed and tons of cars passed us. We said the prayer again and twenty seconds later a guy pulled up to see if we were all right. He gave us a gas can and drove away. We were prompted to pour the gas in. We did. The motorhome started right up and we headed for home. Later we discovered that some water had gotten into some of the gas in the tank. The man's gas had made the gas just right enough for the engine to use. We forgot to ask the man's name, but I knew he was sent from Heavenly father.

Beginings
Soooo...... My name is Dallin Adams. I am starting a blog because I am in need of something to do over the summer. Spring craze has been so crazy, I might not know what to do. This is what my spring calendar looked like: my mom and dad worked full time jobs (I babysat a lot) and I had homeschooling. I had soccer, Keys of Liberty, Shakespeare,Scouts and Orchestra all in one day. I also had Art, Speech and Debate, and My Tech High. robotics and flash game design) I also had baseball and I think home schooling should count at least two things. My mom has been amazing. she has worked a full time job and home schooled and worked out meals for thirty kids without fridges for three days at a summer camp. And drove around five kids to all their activities. So I will be pretty bored this summer. And sorry if I sound like a Blabbermouth or make no sense cuz this is my first time doing this. I figure that I am going to have some bad posts but hopefully have some good ones. So here we go everyone.......... To the twilight zone.........
